Reasons for the Nearest Server Lock Failure
GearUP uses advanced techniques to influence the game's server allocation strategies, helping you get assigned to the nearest server. However, even though in most cases the lock works, it may fail under the following circumstances.
1. Party matchmaking
The feature only works for our users. Therefore, when you queue up for matches with teammates, the game may allocate a server based on their locations, causing the lock feature to fail. However, if your teammates also use our nearest server lock feature (and lock on the same server region), this issue can be perfectly avoided!
2. Game server peak hours
Some games, such as Overwatch 2, may automatically allocate players to other available servers during peak times when the nearest servers are full, which our technology cannot override.
3. Specific games (e.g. Call of Duty series)
Due to these games' unique mechanisms, please wait at least 30 seconds after entering the game before starting matchmaking. Otherwise, our server lock feature may not activate properly, resulting in failure.
